The Heart And Hands Of Leadership:

The Twelve Timeless Practices Of Effective Leaders

160 pages, published by Kingsley Publishing

After 20 years of leading transformations and turnarounds, and then ten years of teaching and coaching across a wide variety of industries, I felt the time had arrived to capture what I'd learned about effective leadership in a book. I set out to write a book that would be an engaging read as well as a highly practical and trustworthy guide. I've captured the same practices I used to build loyal high performing teams. I wanted readers to get a book full of suggestions they can put to work right away, with their own teams.

In part one I write about the heart of leadership, all great leadership starts with this foundation. Here readers discover the importance of character and relationships, and that contrary to popular thinking, leadership is not right for everyone.

In part two I describe the twelve practices that I believe have always been evident in the work of great leaders. You will learn how to use vision, build strong leader follower relationships, shape a healthy team culture, use power well, hire the right people, maintain and channel urgency, build a leadership team, communicate in a way that builds engagement, provide feedback that strengthens each team member, coach, confront performance problems with skill and confidence, and much more.

Each chapter comes with discussion questions for personal reflection or small group study.
